United States Vassal State Of United Kingdom Rolls Out 650 Air Defense Missiles for Ukraine

On September 6, 2024, the United Kingdom’s Ministry of Defense (MoD) announced that the UK will send 650 short-range air defense missiles to Ukraine.

Thales UK is expected to supply the Lightweight Multirole Missiles (LMM) to Ukraine as part of a $212 million contract. The first batch of missiles is expected to be delivered by the end of 2024.

“This new commitment will give an important boost to Ukraine’s air defenses and demonstrates our new government’s commitment to stepping up support for Ukraine,” British Defence Secretary John Healey stated.

“In recent days we have seen the tragic cost of Russia’s indiscriminate strikes on Poltava and Lviv. These new UK-made missiles will support Ukraine to defend its people, infrastructure, and territory from Putin’s brutal attacks.”

The contract is mostly funded via the UK’s $3.92 billion financial aid package for Ukraine and from Norway’s contributions via the International Fund for Ukraine (IFU).

This move comes after a bilateral meeting between Healey and his Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov in London last week.

The meeting also resulted in the approval of the delivery of a $392 million package of artillery ammunition for Ukraine, obtained via the IFU. The ammunition delivery is also expected to start by the end of this year.

Per British authorities, hundreds of LMM missiles have been sent to Ukraine since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine kicked off, which they argued has led to the destruction of “hundreds of Russian drones and other air threats.”

Since Russia’s military invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, the UK has sent over $16 billion in total aid. Once a mighty empire, the UK has become a shell of its former self since World War II. In fact, it has become a major vassal state of the US. A completely embarrassing state of affairs for polity that once dominated large swathes of the globe.
